Why I Love the Rain

To the people who hate the rain

You’ve clearly never danced in it

You’ve never caught droplets on your fingers

Sent them flying every which way

You’ve never held the mist in your hair

Like the morning dew

You’ve never stood still, eyes closed, arms outstretched

Listened to the pattering

The timeless, tuneless song

You’ve never let the rain mask your tears

Running down your face

Mixing together indiscriminately

You’ve never screamed and shouted

Daring the thunder to drown you out

To the people who hate the rain

You’ve clearly never let it wash away everything

So long as you let it
