If you’re American then chances are you’re probably getting ready for turkey day tomorrow. Now I don’t know about your family, but mine has this “tradition” of going around and saying what they’re thankful for.
I kind of hate it. Mostly because I have to lie about what I’m really grateful for. I have to say family or health or whatever.
So I thought maybe I’ll just say what I’m actually thankful for on here.
- The Internet: Wow, what a selfish first-world thing to say. I know. But it’s true. Like I’ve said before, I can be me on the Internet. Which is strange because most people are “real” in real life but I’m kind of the opposite. I say and do what I want online because more people get me than in the real world. But I love it because it makes me feel free to be exactly who I am without tailoring myself to what people think I should be. Not that I do that all that much anyways. But I can be me.
2. Creativity: If I didn’t have my creativity I don’t think I’d be able to live. Like I’ve said before, this spark is my lifeline. It’s my outlet. Whether that’s writing stories or poetry, making art, or dancing. Even recording and editing YouTube videos, which I’m still trying to get better at being consistent. It makes me feel like I have a purpose.
3. Fiction: This kind of goes along with being creative but not necessarily my creations. I love fiction because it’s an escape. It let’s me disappear to another universe where (at least for a little while) I don’t have to deal with my life. I can lose myself in fantastic situations with magic and adventure and fun. It’s one of those things that you can always go back to. It’s home.
4. This Blog: I have talked more about my true feelings on here, in one year, more than I ever have in almost two decades of life. Granted, I didn’t have much to complain about the first half of my life, but you know what I mean. I can be honest here. And so I’m grateful to you people who decide to read my posts. Whether or not you follow me, or even get what I’m trying to say, it means the world to me that someone out there is listening to me. In a world of more than 7 billion people, you found my blog. So thank you for listening to me ramble and complain and be real.
But that’s all for now. I doubt I’ll be able to post tomorrow so Happy Thanksgiving to all you people out there.
~ Miss Misfit x
P.S. Yes, Miss Misfit is still me. I figured it was a better “pen name” than Quill. Tis’ all for now. Also, do you get the joke with the title and the… yeah, I know, not my best. Oh well.
