I work in customer service, specifically I’m a waitress.
But guess what? I’m human. And I make mistakes. I’ll own up to them but in the end, sometimes things happen.
I am not trying sabotage your meal or your day. I’m trying my best with the cards I’ve been dealt. And I take pride in being able to keep all my customers happy at once.
So here’s a PSA to anyone who requires any kind of service from another human being: Be kind. There’s a lot going on that you don’t see. We’re trying here and you getting aggressive and (for lack of a better word) bitchy is not at all helping. It’s not going to get you any discounts or make anything go faster. It’s not all about you, honey.
And to all my fellow customer service employees: You’ll get through this. Dealing with other humans is tough but you’re doing it so kudos to you, my friend.
And if you’re wondering, why yes I did have a particularly difficult group of customers prior to writing this post. But I’m not going to get into that.
