Overcoming a Plateau

Hitting a plateau can be really frustrating, especially when you feel like you’ve made a lot of progress.

And right now, I’ve hit a plateau with my fitness goals. I’m still getting up every day and doing my workout, I’m eating better and sleeping well (as much as I can control, at least). But, something has changed.

I started a second round of Transform 20 last week by adding another level of difficulty with my step and already the workouts are So. Much. Harder.

I set a new bar for myself last week with my new transformer numbers and this week it’s been ridiculously hard to beat those numbers. I’m used to being able to make steady progress through just about everything. Which is funny. Because I know better.

I know that progress is more than an uphill-downhill journey. It’s a lot of rushing forward, tripping up, and stumbling, tumbling, fumbling. In short, it’s a lot of work. And it’s a lot of frustration and anger and sadness. It’s a lot of wondering,

What am I doing wrong?

But those feelings don’t have to turn into this negative thing that holds me back or scares me away from moving forward. I’m at that point where the push I need has to come from within. Yes, I can receive motivation from outside sources but I have to tap into that part of my soul that makes me move faster, reach higher, and bring out the power I have within me.

This is the next step for me. It’s the step that never ends but I am ready to take it.

Until next time x
